kk...so I used all the lyrics from the Celldweller CD. It's self titled...so..yeah. It's mostly about Kari, Rose and AFR. It's all that I could really get from it. Uh...I've got two more that are being worked on. One is a SC Tekken story. The other is about da kids. Well...here's the first random ass chapter. One you read it, if you do...you'll know what it's about. ^^;;;
The speaking in white is not a part of the songs. I'm trying to keep those different. ><
Chapter 1: Switchback
There Hikari laid, unclothed under the black, silk sheets of his bed. The choice was hard, but what she was dealing with now was destroying her. Thousands of questions raced through her mind even as she made love to the man she chose. As she moaned, his face popped into her mind. She opened her eyes, her back arching. 'I made a choice that I regret. Now, what I see is what I get,' she sang to herself through the friction of their bodies. 'It's too late to look back. I've got no way to switchback. It's too late to look back. It ain't ok I've got no way to switchback.' Gripping at the bed tightly, she turned her head to avoid a kiss. 'Wait, how can it be too late, because I don't want to play with such a price to pay.' She moaned loudly, her body arching back. Maybe Kari was enjoying this much more then she wanted to. His face still flashed in her mind behind closed violet eyes. 'It's too late to look back. It ain't ok I've got no way to switchback.' Finally they were done. She rolled on her side, gasping for air. He kissed her with a smile. "You made the right choice, Awen" Kari faked a smile and nodded. Inside, she was screaming. 'A painful picture that I can't forget. Now what I see is what I get.' Tears slid from her eyes as he left her room. 'It's too late to look back. I've got no way to switchback. It's too late to look back. It ain't ok I've got no way to switchback.' Slowly, Kari sat up. She held the sheet around her. All she could smell was the stench of sex. It made her gag. Her violet eyes looked up. "Wait, how can it be too late because I don't want to play with such a price to pay. Chained to what I can't reclaim. I'll never be the same. Won't be the same again," she sang quietly to herself. "It's too late to look back. It ain't ok I've got no way to switchback." Kari slowly stood and wandered into her bathroom. She stood in front of the mirror, her naked body reflecting back to her. Her hands slowly trased over every curve of her own body. Sweat stuck to her clamy skin. Then, a hand moved over the large scar on her right wrist. 'I've got no way to switchback. It's too late to look back.' She looked back into the mirror before slamming her fist into it. The glass shattered, some staying on the mirror. Some imbedded deeply into her pale skin. Most just fell into the sink and to the ground. "Too late to look back. It ain't ok I've got no way to switchback!" she practically screamed into her broken reflection on the mirror.

Chapter 2: Stay With Me (Unlikely)
The base was really quiet this night of all nights. Well, that's not counting if you were outside fighting the hundreds of demons that seemed to love to randomly attack the Shadow Clan at unruly times of the day. Kari stood a few feet away from the rest of the group who were talking. Her head began to ache. She turned and headed back into the base. The battle was done. Armok was just killing any that were still alive. She was easily able to leave. Walking into her dark room, she closed the door lightly. She walked into her bathroom. The headache had gotten worse. She could hear something talking at the back of her mind, but she ignored it. She instead took about 5 aspirin and sat on her bed. She took a large drink of water and swallowed the pills. She wasn't sure how many she took. She couldn't remember. "Sick of this mind and the games it plays. Mental enemies want to push me back in. Here they come running, wanting me up on that tree crucified," she started before her eyes darted over to the window. "Wait a minute. Whatever words they say." "Me. Who said it?" the voice said. "Whomever they betray." "Me. Who did it?" "Whenever they're awake it makes me die." Her eyes looked at AFR then turned to Armok. She sighed lightly. Her eyes noticed who he was talking to. She got pissed. ================ The rest of the SC had diverted off to whatever they wanted to do. Rose and AFR stood near the base talking. Rose laughed at something he said before she hugged him. He smiled, but that faded when he noticed Armok leaving with Selia. "There's so much on my mind." "We're given so little time. There's no way to hold on as it passes by," replied Rose. "So lead me into denial. Help me forget for a while..." Rose instantly knew what he was talking about. She smiled and nodded. "I'll try my hardest." ================ Kari watched Armok leave. Tears stung at her eyes. "Stay with me, please don't go." She got no reply. He just walked off with Selia. She leaned into her window, headache still fullblown bothering her. As the tears fell, she continued on. "Stay with me, please don't go. If you want to be alone...stay with me, please." ================ AFR sighed and looked at the ground. "Sick of this mind and the games it plays. Mental enemies want to push me back again. Here they come running, wanting me up on that tree crucified." "Wait a minute..." "Whatever words they say." "Me. Who said it?" "Whomever they betray." "Me. Who did it?" asked Rose, scowling. "Whenever they're awake it makes me die." ================ Kari now held her switchblade in hand. She sat at her window, tears pouring from her violet eyes. "There's so much on my mind. We're given so little time. There's no way to hold on as it passes by. So lead me into denial. Help me forget for a while..." Her eyes looked up. As she lowered her bloody arm, she cumpled to the floor. "Stay with me, please don't go." ================ Rose suddenly had that empathetic jolt of someone dying. She groaned. "Damn it, Kari!" "What's wrong with Kari?!" asked AFR. Rose started into the base, pissed a bit. AFR followed. He was freaking out in his mind, but seemed calm outside. He knocked on Kari's door just to hear her say to go away. He didn't know what else to do. "Stay with me, please don't go. If you want to be alone..." he broke off to hear the door unlocking. "Stay with me, please," came Kari's reply. The two quickly entered her room. Rose knelt next to her, agrivated. AFR stood behind Rose just watching. She had sliced open her wrists again. Kari looked at Rose as she healed her, a bit pissed off. "I don't have much else to say." "Unlikely," was Rose's reply. "I'd rather you go away." "Unlikely." "I don't need something from you." "Unlikely." "Though some say I will heal over time, it doesn't seem to likely. It seems unlikely." Rose finished healing her up and stood. She glared at her. Kari would have glared right back if she wasn't so exausted. AFR picked her up gently and set her in her bed. Rose left. She could trust him, at the moment. He ran a hand through Kari's hair. He was about ready to leave. When he stood, he felt a hand grab his. Kari looked up at him. "Please don't go." "I won't." "Stay with me, please don't go. If you want to be alone...stay with me, please." "Kari, I'm not going anywhere," he replied, sitting next to her. She smiled, moving her head to rest in his lap. He just ran a hand through her hair and leaned back against the wall. He felt a bit sleepy himself. ================ Rose sat in her room, watching the two. Jealousy could be seen in her red eyes. "Stay with me, please don't go. If you want to be alone...stay with me, please don't go. Stay with me please."

Chapter 3: The Last Firstborn
And as she ran, an all familiar face came into veiw. "Hikari?" She looked up to stare into the face of Shadow. Her eyes quickly softened as she collapsed. She's been running for the past three miles. "Kari! Are you okay? Kari!" She didn't reply, but she felt his arms around her. They felt real, but Kari didn't know what was happening. Her body tightened up. He blinked. "Did I tell you that I'm not really your brother?" Kari looked at him with a blank look. Her face said "I don't care" but her mind was racing. He was just smiling at her. She felt that she should give him some sort of comfort. "Is there a place were we can rest near by?" she asked. Shadow nodded and helped her up. They walked to an old, abandoned house. Shadow opened the door. Dust flew up into his face. He coughed. "Ewe." Kari struged and walked in. She looked around before walking into the first open room she saw. It was the living room. White sheets covered old furniture. She decided to sit on the couch. Shadow plopped down on a chair. Dust flew up again. This time, he sneezed. Kari couldn't help but to laugh. Shadow grinned. ================ Armok began his search for his wife. He was still pissed off, but he was more worried right now. He just wanted to find her. He could sense Shadow. This just made him move faster. ================ Shadow kept watching Kari as she stared at the same spot on the floor for minutes. He sighed. "Oh man, I can't believe. That you did what they said you did. And to this day, I've still gotta say that in my mind, I question it. I wish I knew what you had meant before you went and left me wondering to just an echo of your voice," he sang to her. Kari looked up. Her eyes were emotionless as she stared at him. "Listen...Now I wait to take my turn to bleed like a kid playing with a razorblade and wonder if I have the balls at all. Or am I gonna be afraid," she replied. He moved next to her. Her eyes looked directly into his. She didn't catch herself as they kissed. Kari didn't really want to. Shadow pulled away and looked at her. "Where are you?" "What do you think? 'Cause I'm not sure when knocking at death's door. If I will be welcome in or be left alone outside," she answered, her voice wavering slightly as the words sang from her mouth. Shadow nodded. He returned to kissing her. Before Kari knew it, he lightly pushed her down on the couch. She didn't stop him. ================ Armok growled. He looked through the shadows to find Kari. Anger welled inside of him. He was watching everything. "I hear the sound of a heart from the shadow in the dark waiting for the poison to hit its mark," he sang, extremely pissed off. "I see the darkness surround the shape on the ground. The killer straight up and a body face down. I hear the din of the screams. Sorrow in streams. The smell of farewell and gasoline. I see a heart set free and my legacy. Hear a voice from a Shadow that is beckoning me." As he approached the abandoned house, shadows crackled around him. He was going to pay for touching her. Kari was his. ================ Kari quickly sat up. Shadow moved back. "What is it?" "Nothing." Shadow blinked. Kari smiled. She pulled Shadow back on top of her, her eyes closing. Before she knew it, their clothes were gone and he was inside her. Her body enjoyed it, but her mind was screaming. 'I guess there comes a point when you think to yourself "This isn't worth it. It isn't worth it". And now I feel what you felt. And now I feel what you felt inside, brother. And now I feel what you felt.' Her eyes opened quickly as Shadow was pulled off of her and flung across the room. "This isn't worth it. It isn't worth it," she sang quietly to herself. "I hear the sound of a heart from the shadow in the dark waiting for the poison to hit its mark. I see the darkness surround the shape on the ground. The killer straight up and a body face down. I hear the din of the screams. Sorrow in streams. The smell of farewell and gasoline. I see a heart set free and my legacy. Hear a voice from a shadow that is beckoning me." Armok looked at Kari, anger in his eyes. Her own were open wide. Shadow tried to plead his case to Armok, but to no work. Kari quickly got dressed. As Armok spent his time threatening Shadow, she escaped. She ran quickly into the darkness. "I wish it didn't...I wish it didn't end this way..." ================== Shadow quickly vanished before Armok could kill him as he always did. Armok looked around to find his wife, but she was gone. He quickly found her scent and ran after her. It didn't take him too long to catch up with her. She stood beside a small lake, her eyes staring at her reflection. He stood behind her. "Live a life in hell through a mortal shell asphyxiating smell for a crime lifetime. Imagination locked in a cell. And to the other firstborn, I see the same scene that must play over in your mind and now how much more. I'm sure it's fucked with your head just like it's fucked up mine," he sang, his arms wrapping around her. Tears fell from her eyes. She pulled out of his arms. "'Listen my son - firstborn last one.' The message you sent out to me. I can't change what's meant to be," she replied, looking into his eyes. "I...I didn't mean to..." she whispered. He moved over to her. " I hear the sound of a heart from the shadow in the dark waiting for the poison to hit its mark. I see the darkness surround the shape on the ground. The killer straight up and a body face down. I hear the din of the screams. Sorrow in streams. The smell of farewell and gasoline. I see a heart set free and my legacy. Hear a voice from a Shadow that is beckoning me." Kari dropped her head. She felt his arms wrap tightly around her. Shadow would pay for what she didn't stop. That, she wouldn't tell as long as his arms were wrapped around her.

Chapter 4: Under My Feet
It had only been a week, but things were back to normal. Kari stood on the roof, her blonde hair being blown around her face. She just admitted something that was burning deep inside of her. Now, she felt better for saying it, but what would happen. She told him to meet her on the roof. The breeze chilled her. Shivering, she heard the door open. AFR came onto the roof. He walked over to where she stood. He wrapped his arms around her. "It's too cold to be outside without a jacket." A small smile crossed her face. "What are you going to do about it?" "Nothing." Kari laughed. She just rested against his body, her hands touching his lightly. A blush formed on her face. She felt like a teenager and it was stupid. He sighed. "So this is how if feels to suffer? And I had too much to say, but it's over now. And I'm going down alone. Alone," he sang. "I've no guarantees. I'll recongnize my disease before my time has gone. It's all I've found. Can't get the hell off the ground. Out from under my feet." There was a small pause. AFR opened his mouth to speak. It closed slowly, but he choked out some words. "Promises and wishes all mean nothing when it's me that I'm speaking to. Wanting something won't mean I will see it through." "I don't need to see these visions to remind me that I'm dying from the inside out. Wanting you here...it still means I must do without," Kari sang, tears formed in her eyes. "I can't criticize your reasons for living when I'm the one missing them. Wanting, dreaming that I may find where they come from." She turned to look him directly into his eyes. He placed a hand on her cheek, lightly. Her eyes immediately closed as she leaned into his hand. Some tears slipped from her eyes. "Find where they come from," they whispered together. Kari laughed slightly. AFR wrapped his arms around her, closing his eyes. He pressed her against his body. "I dream you and I want to be near you," he sang. "I can't get up out from under my feet." Kari looked up at him. Their eyes quickly met again. He leaned down. She closed her eyes and moved up to meet him. Their lips met in a long forgotten kiss. ================ Rose stared at the floor in her room. Tears welled up in her eyes. "I've tried to, but can't get it through. I need to. God is all I've found. Can't get the hell off the ground. Out from under my feet." She looked at the ring on her finger. It now didn't feel like anything. She slowly pulled it off her finger. "So this is how it feels, you sucker, and you've had too much to say. But it's over now. You're finally going down alone. Alone." The ring fell to the floor. She quickly left the base and headed towards the woods. ================ "I can't Kari. Rose." She nodded. *"I understand." Her eyes looked at him. He looked back into hers. He knew his ass was in big trouble, but that didn't stop him from kissing her again. Kari's eyes closed slowly. She didn't want to let him go. AFR looked up. He noticed someone leaving. It suddenly clicked in his head. "Rose!" He released Kari and started to go after her. Kari just stood there, her head down. She slowly turned around, her eyes opening. She saw him sprint after Rose. Biting her lip, she suddenly felt jealous. She'd never get him.

Chapter 5: I Believe You
She quickly walked outside towards the woods. All she left was the ring that used to be around her finger. She was pissed off and upset. Tears fell down her eyes even if she wanted to kill someone. "This is my excuse to testify." Rose turned to glare at AFR. He looked at her. He stepped forward. "Been a beaten down boy and I don't know why." The anger melted away for now. She looked at him with hurt in her eyes instead. "That's alright. That's alright. Well, the truth was a lie and I don't know how it got me to follow and it's true that the lie that was sold me will never let me go," she sang quietly. "Rose, it wasn't a lie. I want you." "What I needed you to say was hidden far away. This is why I've had to justify. My head is shaken. Yeah, but that's alright. What I needed to believe was hidden far from me." She turned and looked at him directly in the eyes. "That's alright cuz I believe you." AFR moved closer to her. He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a hug. Rose could still smell Kari on his shirt. She pulled away. "Take advantage of a malleable mind. Been weakened sucker boy without a spine. That's alright. That's alright." AFR reached out for her, but she smacked his hand away. "Tell me that I've got to fight your fights and now I'm bleeding. Boy without a life, but that's alright. That's alright." The anger was back. She glared at him with icy eyes. He just stood there and listened to her. "Don't feel bad because I won't cry. I'll do your will and not ask why. But that's alright because I believe you." She paused, a few tears slipping from her eyes. He reached out for her again, but she moved from his hand. "What I needed you to say was hidden far away. This is why I've had to justify. My head is shaking. Yeah, but that's alright. That's alright." Rose started back towards the base. AFR followed behind her, his face down. "What I needed you to say was hidden far away. This is why I've had to justify. My head is shaking. Yeah, but that's alright cuz I believe you." She entered the base and ditched him to go into the kitchen. He needed to be careful. He had to hurt one in order to be with the other and he hated it. AFR followed her into the kitchen. He wrapped his arms around her. "If you want to talk, meet me in your bedroom." He lightly kissed the top of her head and left.

This is my favorite chapter by far. >> Uh...yeah. ^^;;;
Chapter 6: Frozen
AFR sat on Rose's bed, waiting for her to enter. Her ring rested in his palm. Once she entered, he looked up. She closed the door and walked over to him with a smile on her face. She straddled his lap. AFR smiled, a bit confused on why she was smiling and doing this. Rose began to kiss him, her hands running down his chest teasingly. He groaned. He'll just forget it this time. She smiled and held out her hand. He put the ring on her finger slowly before standing. He quickly turned them around and gently pushed her on the bed, kissing her neck lightly. "Inside this fantasy, it seems so real to me. Synthetic ecstasy when her legs are open. True love behind a wall where men and angels fall. A fading memory when my mind is frozen," AFR sang. He started to pull off her shirt. His eyes looked at Rose, but that wasn't who he was picturing. "I can see a frozen point in time where her figure still awaits. Tongue of fire tracing lips outline where frozen breath originates." Rose had taken off his shirt now. Her fingers traced his chest as her hand moved its way down to his pants. He kissed at her neck, those trailing down to her chest. "With one motion of her waiting eyes, she strips everything away. This one moment is intensified and colors all fade to gray." Rose moaned as he started to kiss at her breasts. He had already removed her bra. She managed to work his pants off. The kisses trailed back up to her mouth. They were a bit more lustful now. Yet in his mind, it wasn't his wife he was with. "I am in the only place that I want to be. Though we know that it ends eventually. But it's alright because right now we're frozen." Kari's eyes flashed in his mind. Then her lips. He moaned lightly and kissed Rose's neck. He started to remove her pants. "I want to forget mistakes they've helped me make. It's better to be broken then to break," she sang, but it wasn't Rose's voice he heard. "Inside this fantasy, it seems to real to me. Synthetic ecstasy when her legs are open. True love behind a wall where men and angels fall. A fading memory when my mind is frozen." Once everything was gone, Rose moved up her bed. AFR followed her, his eyes looking directly into hers. "I can see a frozen point in time that is easy to retrace. Light and darkness are both intertwined. The elements are in their place. With one motion of her wanting mind the real world begins to fade and all the hateful things I have become temporarily go away." His mouth returned to hers. Rose's back arched as he entered her slowly. The kisses trailed down her neck as she moaned. "Inside this fantasy, it seems so real to me. Synthetic ecstasy when her legs are open. True love behind a wall where men and angels fall. A fading memory when my mind is frozen." This false passion overtook his mind. Rose had no clue. He bit his lip and continued what he was doing. "When my mind's frozen..." Her moan paused him shortly. Their sweat began to mix. He continued on a bit harder, just wanting to hear her. But was it her? In his mind, it was the one he really wanted. Her blonde hair was stuck to her face. She bit her pale lips as violet eyes looked up at him. "I'll take you anywhere you want to go, far from anything that feels like home." Rose bit at her lip ring. "Let's go." "You are anyone I want to be." "It's here and now. And now it's only you and me," she replied not with her own voice. "It's never enough." "Mmm, that's true," she replied, a smile crossing her face. "I want to stay here." "Yeah, and I do too." "Breakin' it down." "Takin' it down." "With the smell, touch, taste, sight and sound," they both said together. He thrusted even harder. Rose cried out in pleasure. Her back arched against him. He wrapped an arm under her back to hold her near him. He kept from whimpering out Kari's name. Maybe he did. Rose must have not heard. "How long will I be here without you near because I'm so cold. Break them first or I'll get broken is now what I was told. Now, I'm so cold. I'm so cold. So cold." He could feel his end come near. This all felt so good. Too good. "Inside this fantasy, it seems so real to me. Synthetic ecstasy when her legs are open. True love behind a wall where men and angels fall. A fading memory when my mind is frozen." His body tensed up as his climax came. He could feel her stop all movement for him. One of his hands ran through her blonde hair...or was it red? He could hear his name be called out. AFR's eyes opened up. No smile came to his face upon looking at Rose. In the end, it was all Rose, not Kari. He felt his heart pause. 'Inside this fantasy, it seems so real to me. Synthetic ecstasy when her legs are open. True love behind a wall where men and angels fall. A fading memory when my mind is frozen,' he whispered in his mind.

Chapter 7: Symbiont
Kari stood on the roof, her arms folded across her chest. Anger welled in her eyes. "Control my tiniest motions. Withhold my simplest needs. I wish you weren't this close now. I wish you didn't succeed." Her eyes looked down upon her husband with Selia. She didn't know why she wasn't as mad at Armok as she was at Selia. Her arms lowered, her fists clentched. Eventually, he noticed her on the roof. She watched as the two seperated without touching. This made her wonder what would have happened if she wasn't watching them. He stepped out of a portal near to her. Wrapping his arms around her, he kissed her cheek. Kari pulled away. Her violet eyes glared at him. He folded his arms across his chest. "Yeah, so what? It's another day. You're gonna take it from me anyway," he said, a glare on his own face. His face showed that he didn't care. He was challenging her back. Kari quickly took it up. "I can't seem to remember now what it was like to live life before you, symbiont." Her comment pissed him off. He growled. "I want to go, but I have to stay." "I know you'd be there anyway." "I need you and you need me." "So much for bliss when I kiss the enemy. Mine." Her head turned to a side. Armok growled. He moved to stand right in front of her, his face in hers. His glare was so cold that it could freeze anything. Kari just returned the glare right back. A smirk crossed his face. "We're dancing on a thin line." "Control my tiniest motions. Withhold my simplest needs. I wish I didn't need you now. I wish you didn't need me," she sang. He laughed. He moved back a bit, watching her closely. Kari didn't move. Her eyes looked at him. She still loved him more then anything, but if he didn't want her, she wasn't going to stop him. "Yeah, so what? It's another day. You're gonna take it from me anyway." "I can't seem to remember now what it was like to live life before you, symbiont." "I want to go, but I have to stay," he repeated. "It doesn't matter if I leave because you'd be there anyway. I need you and you need me." "So much for bliss when I kiss this enemy." Her eyes softened as she kissed him. "Mine." As she stood back, her eyes softened even more. "We're dancing on a thin line." "Eraseable. Expendable." "Untraceable. Unmendable." "Eraseable. Expendable." "I wish I didn't need you now." "And I wish you didn't need me." His response made her eyes go wide. There was nothing in his voice. She looked away. "I wish I didn't need you now." "And I wish you didn't need me." "Need you now..." "You need me." "Cause you hate me." "And I hate you, but you need me." "And I need you. I need you. Need you now..." "Whatever," he said. Kari looked at him, tears welling in her eyes. She watched him just turn and fade away into the darkness. He would never come back this time.

Chapter 8: Afraid This Time
A silence had settled back into everyone's already boring life in the Shadow Clan. It had only been a few months without their leader. The one left in charge was self-destructing before their very eyes, but they did nothing. Even as her spiral was nearly complete, one voice still kept her head above the water. =============== As her tears fell down, Kari sat in her room with only the darkness as her friend. She wrapped her arms around her. She had taken a bit too much, but not that much to kill her. "Even if you want, you can't touch me now." She kept telling herself that, but she couldn't believe it. "Leave me if you want, you can't hurt me now." The needle no longer gave her comfort as well as her blade. She stared at her own reflection in a broken mirror. The lines in the glass divided her image in blocks. Kari turned her head to the window as a cold sweat formed on her skin. "Build them up, high and strong, so you'll never have to hurt too long. Put them up till they surround and there's no real you left to be found. Hold it up, high above no fear of hope or trust or love. Close it up and hold your ground and wait until it's time to finally close it down." Another needle sunk into her arm. The liquid slowly found it's way into her vein. She fell back, the needle slipping out of her hand and to the floor. Her body shook as shock ran though her system. She groaned out in pain before there was knocking at her door. "Kari! Open the door!" She just turned her body to look at her reflection in the broken mirror. The pounding didn't stop on her door. Kari started to feel her body slow down. "Even if you want, you can't touch me now. Leave me if you want, you can't hurt me now." A sudden wave of pain ripped through her. She moaned out, her body crumpling to the ground. Her eyes drifted over to the needle on the floor. With what was left of her strength, she slammed her fist against it. The needle shattered, small pieces of glass sinking into her skin. She coughed out roughly and turned to her side as she threw up what food she did eat. It wasn't much. As she laid there in her vomit, her eyes felt heavy. "This isn't easy to admit, but I don't think I'm believing it." She started to feel her body slowly fall asleep. She coughed roughly before choking out one last thing. "I'm afraid this time. It's not the same this time." The door finally opened. She saw nothing but shadow as she passed out. As she spun into the darkness, her voice echoed around her. "Build them up, high and strong, so you'll never have to hurt too long. Put them up till they surround and there's no real you left to be found. Hold it up, high above no fear of hope or trust or love. Close it up and hold your ground and wait until it's time to finally close it down." Her eyes opened up slightly but could see nothing but the darkness. She felt angry, sad, but no emotion was felt here. It was a silent pitfall as her body fell towards unknown darkness. "This isn't easy to admin, but I don't think I'm believing it. I'm afraid this time. This isn't easy to admit, but I don't think I'm believing it. It's not the same this time." She suddenly felt cold. Her arms folded as she forced herself into a ball. Kari's eyes closed, her breath warm against her legs. If anything, this would be the time she would cry, but no tears found their way to her eyes. "Even if you want, you can't touch me now. Leave me if you want, you can't hurt me now..." Even in this darkness, she still couldn't believe it. =============== It didn't take longer then a few hours before she woke up. A hand tightly held onto hers. She looked over into AFR's eyes. A smile slowly formed on her lips. He jumped a bit when he noticed that she was awake. He kinda freaked out when he saw her looking at him. "Hey!" "Hey." He just smiled at her, not really caring that she almost killed herself with an overdose. She was still alive and with him. As she looked at him, words slowly came to her mind. The smile faded. "This isn't easy to admit, but I'm afraid this time."

Chapter 9: Fadeaway, So Sorry To Say
After getting yelled at by each female of the Shadow Clan and a couple of the guys, Kari finally made it to the roof where she could be alone. The cool breeze blew directly into her face. She shuddered and wrapped her arms around her. She closed her eyes as a jacket was wrapped around her shoulders. AFR replied. Kari laughed and nodded. He was right. Anything was better then Rose. She's wicked scary. "How are you feeling?" he asked. "Eh." She shrugged. "I've been better. Feels like I've been hit by a truck." "That would have been better." Kari gave him a bit of a glare. He just smiled. She sighed and looked away. She coughed lightly, her body starting to get warm due to his coat. Another sigh came out of her which made AFR sigh. She looked at him again with a challenging glare. He returned it. Kari giggled, but that fell quickly. "I'm not clear how it is I ended up here." "Dejá vu? "Think of you now so far, once so near, tangled in my own reflection on the way down." "Fadeaway?" he asked. She nodded. "With my hands on my mind, I hold wounds that won't mend. With my eyes opened wide, I can see it's the end, tangled in my imperfections." "On the way down?" "Fadeaway," she replied. "Don't hate me now. They've torn away the ground from under me, right after they were reassured that I believed." "Normality is not a word I understand at all. I set myself up for the fall, withdrawing deep into the hold this isolated little cell leaves me, cold and faded." "I'm my one and only friend." "I am my worst enemy." AFR nodded, lightly wrapping his arms around her. He lightly kissed the side of her head, resting his own on it. She felt at ease in his arms. "I find new methods to pretend that this is not reality," Kari started up again. "Don't be lonely. Now, I'm your only." "Just stay far away from me when I fadeaway from me." "What?" Kari didn't reply. She pulled away from him to stand on the edge of the roof. Inside her head, she could hear the sound of ticking. Her eyes closed and a few tears slipped from them. "So lost for so long. I cannot tell how in my mind in what moment in time I woke up in this cell." He moved towards her and wrapped his arms around her tightly. She felt some sort of comfort in his arms. She rested her head against his arm. He kissed the top of her head this time before resting it on hers. "I want you so much to stay with me." Just then Rose appeared on the roof, her glare icy and dangerous. Kari quickly pulled away from AFR. She handed him back his coat with a broken smile. With a turn away, she headed back downstairs. "So lost. Tell me how can it be? I'm desperately trying to understand why." Once she entered her room, she sat on her cold bed in the darkness. Her eyes glaced back at her mirror. Her broken reflection just stared back. "I will push you from me. So close, but so far away. I cannot see how this happened to me. I'm so sorry to say. So lost for so long, I cannot tell how in my mind and what moment in time I woke up in this cell." =============== "So close, yet so far away. I cannot see how this happened to me. I'm so sorry to say. I want you to go away from me," sang Rose, her glare directly at AFR. He turned away. "I want you so much to stay with me," he replied.

Chapter 10: Own Little World
Not even a week before Kari returned to what she did best, self-destruction. The others were pissed, but she didn't care. She was in her own little world. As she pushed the needle lightly into her skin, someone yelled out her name. It was Rose. Kari sighed. Rose would be up there in a few minutes. "Mutual sight. Mutual sound. Mutual struggle for shared ground. It's safe to say they'll try to take from me. I'm just another one for them to break down." There was a knock on her door. She hid the needle as the door opened. A pissed off Rose entered the room. She started in on Kari, but she wouldn't listen to any of it. "Steeped in denial, the daily grind. Dream of a world for me and my kind. It's safe in the alternative reality. So, stick your standards where the sun doesn't shine." "They're for themselves," Rose replied, but Kari was up in her face. "It doesn't matter what they say. Promise the world then take it from you anyway. They'll break you down making your vision fadeaway." Rose glared. "It's time to go." "Get outta my space!" Kari pushed her back. The two had a stare down, but before Rose could speak, Kari did. "Welcome to a world where the air I breathe is mine. There's nothing to overwhelm me and nothing to cloud my mind. Be anyone, do anything, I'd ever want to try. Time doesn't exist here. I will never die." She left the room, Rose following behind her. She grabbed Kari's wrist. She wasn't ready to give up on her. "Explain the reasons. Explain the rhymes. It's not required inside our minds. It's safe to try. No need to justify or take their guilt trip at the end of the line. They're for themselves." Kari laughed. "It doesn't matter what they say. Promise the world then take it from you anyway. They'll break you down making your vision fadeaway." "It's time to go." "Get off my case!" screamed Kari. Rose let go of her wrist. She attempted another stare down, but it was failing. Kari just stood there, smirking. She started down the hallway, her high hitting her. She felt invincible. "Welcome to a world where the air I breathe is mine. There's nothing to overwhelm me and nothing to cloud my mind. Be anyone, do anything I'd ever want to try. Time doesn't exist here." Rose followed her, getting even more pissed off at how stupid she was acting. Kari turned to look at her as she entered the kitchen where AFR and Kat were sitting. "Slip into a world where the air I breathe is mine. There's nothing to overwhelm me and nothing to cloud my mind. Come with me into it and you know what you will find. Time doesn't exist here. We will never die." Kat's face turned from bored to severely annoyed. She glared at Kari, standing next to Rose. The two started to lay into her about how she has tried to kill herself so many times it was getting annoying. They threatened to not save her again, but Kari didn't listen. 'My own little world...' she thought to herself. "They're for themselves," repeated Rose. "It doesn't matter what they say," said Kat. "It's time to go." Rose grabbed for Kari's wrist again. Kari pulled back, swinging a punch at her. "Get out of my face!" Rose grabbed Kari's hand as Kat moved to hold her down. Kari struggled to break free, but the drugs in her system were clouding her judgement and blocking her powers. It wasn't too long before she was forced to take a seditive. The two moved Kari back into the medbay, leaving AFR to watch her as they searched her room for whatever stash she had. AFR held onto her hand, his fingers rubbing the back of her hand. "Welcome to a world where the air I breathe is mine. There's nothing to overwhelm me and nothing to cloud my mind," sang Kari as she came to. "Be anyone, do anything I'd ever want to try." "Time doesn't exist here." The two looked at each other, smiles crossing their face. The started to sing together. "Slip into a world where the air I breathe is mine. There's nothing to overwhelm me and nothing to cloud my mind. Come with me into it and you know what you will find. Time doesn't exist here. We will never die." Kari sat up, wrapping an arm around his neck. She pulled him in close, her mouth next to his ear. "Our own little world." They lightly kissed.

Chapter 11: One Good Reason
It had maybe been a week. The withdrawl was killing Kari as she sat on her window sill. She shuddered, but it wasn't the cold. There was a knock on her door. She looked up just as Rose entered and groaned. Rose's face wasn't suprising. She walked over to Kari to check her arms. They were clean right now. Kari pulled away from Rose to sit on her bed. "How could I be so dumb? I wanted to believe someone. How could I be so dumb? I wanted to believe someone. I shouldn't have." Rose glared. "Made the mistake of opening my mouth. Thought you'd understand, but I guess that thinking doesn't count. Act all concerned." "Well, sucks for me man. Can't wait to see where you will be when it finally hits the fan," Rose replied. Kari's eyes narrowed. "You tell me I shouldn't want to die, but can't give me one good reason why." Rose sighed and rolled her eyes. She looked directly into Kari's eyes. "Oh give it up." "And get out of my way. Don't bother patronizing me just cuz you've got nothing to say. I've taken what you told me. I was ready to apply 'liers can't be trusted'." "But you're the one who lied." Kari turned away, kind of pissed off at all of this. She folded her arms across her chest. Rose sighed. She sat on Kari's bed, her hands rubbing her temples. This was getting rediculous. "You tell me I shouldn't want to die, but can't give me one good reason why." Rose looked at her. She just shrugged. *"I guess I can't." "One time my spine controlled by your small mind so many reason for what you've justified." "Don't kill yourself." Kari threw a pillow at Rose, pissed off now. Rose just caught it and set it down. She looked directly at Kari. "If you want to fuck over your life, go ahead. I'm done." She stood and quickly left the room. Kari looked down. She sighed. Maybe she wanted it a bit. She'd rather be pissed at Rose then want to die. It was so much easier to be pissed off. Sighing again, she wandered into her bathroom after locking the doors. She looked in the mirror before breaking it with her hand. Glass shattered all over the sink and into her hand. She picked out pieces that had gone into her skin. They didn't seem to bother her. She grabbed the biggest piece of glass she could find. "With my hands on my mind, I hold wounds that won't mend." She forced the glass into her already scarred wrist. Blood started to pour from the wound as she moved to the other wrist. "With my eyes open wide, I can see." There was pounding on the door. She heard her name being screamed. Yet, she did nothing. As she slipped to the floor, the music in her mind faded away. With one last breath, she forced out her last words as two figures entered her room. "It's the end."

Chapter 12: Welcome to the End
Nothing but silence echoed in the base. Things had shifted dramatically. This wouldn't be just another moment. They were too late. AFR stood in her room. Well, it wasn't her room anymore. The others wanted to get rid of her stuff, but he wouldn't let them. He knew that she'd come back. She always came back...somehow. He remembered the last time they were together, alone and free. It was way before all of this when Kari was so much happier. Her eyes always sparkled back then. "'Welcome home' she said to me. 'Let's hide away before they see. I need so much to be alone with you. I do. I do'." He remembered the way her face looked. He remember the grin she gave him. He remembered the way he felt. She was the most beautiful person he ever saw that day, even if their time was cut short. He waited for her to just come through the door yelling 'Just kidding!' or something like that. Yet, the silence didn't help him any. It honestly hurt him more. Tears slid from his eyes. "'Come with me.' She took my hand. 'Please try to help me understand.' So pointless when my heart has turned to stone. I know. I know." Even if she was gone, her presence still lingered. And even when she had chosen Armok over him, he promised to lock away his heart. He died for her, but came back. She was always there. She always smiled even when she was suffering. Sighing, he fell back onto her bed. He could smell her in her sheets. It wasn't like she was gone at all as he sat in her room. Yet, he could still see the place where he found her. Her last words echoed in his mind. They were driving him mad, but he couldn't break down. "I wish I didn't need you now. And I wish I didn't need you now. I wish I didn't need you now. I need you now. I need you now." His eyes closed. He sat in the darkness. Was this what she normally did? Did she just sit in the dark thinking about everything that had happened to her. Would he do the same? Just having her around made him feel alive even if he couldn't have her the way that he wanted. His eyes closed slowly. Slowly, the last words she said to him a mere two days before she died echoed loudly through his head. "'I wish we could' she whispered near. 'Go some place far away from here.' While hoping that small voice would disappear that said 'Welcome to the end'."
