Deemed "Ground Zero", more affectionally referred to as "Zero", the main Rebel base is a huge underground network that functions as the main rebel headquarters, but also houses civilian refugees from the Dark Zones above. People who live in Zero all rely on each other, and for it's size, it's a fairly close knit community. Altogether, Zero holds about 8,000 civilians, and another 10,000 military persons.
Of all the rebel bases, it is the largest, and the closest to Darkmoor aka Ground Zero. The rest of the bases are numbered based on their proximity to Darkmoor. The further away from Darkmoor, the more likely the bases are to have a civilian focus instead of a military one.
Entrance
The main entrance to the base is the ubiquitous Door. This is where most of the coming and going of the rebellion happens. The clan would've entered through a smaller version of the Door, meant for smaller contingents of people. That door is actually more of a hole, with a ladder leading down to just outside the main Door Bay. The larger version is able to accommodate nearly two entire battalions of soldiers, and allows them to march straight out, instead of climbing up. The Door Bay is probably the most well lit place in the entire underground, considering it's the direct link to the outside. The Door itself is made of quadruple reinforced titanium alloy, with magical wards and holy protections laced into every single inch. It's basically impenetrable, and the Door Bay is the most heavily guarded part of the base, even more-so than the prison cells.
Civilians are not allowed in the Door Bay without written permission from the Commander herself. Exiting the Door without permission or escort is grounds for expulsion from Zero.
The East Wing
The East wing is deemed for civilian use. It's the largest wing, by far, and calling it a "wing" isn't really accurate, as it's really more the size of a small town. There are a few larger halls that function as marketplaces and communal areas. The entire thing is a confusing series of tunnels and hallways, some large, some extremely small, that make up a network. If you know the way, you can easily get from one end of the Wing to the other in under ten minutes. If you don't, it's recommended you find a guide first, otherwise you will get lost. All the civilians live in apartment style accommodations that can be found in basically any corridor. Soldiers provide basic law enforcement, although there is very little beyond petty crime, because the punishments are harsh.
It runs basically like a city. People have all manner of jobs, and there is an elected official who's job is to make sure the city keeps running smoothly, and to take up an concerns with the Commander.
There's not a ton in the way of fun activities, as they don't really have room to building extraneous things like bars/nightclubs/shopping malls/skating rinks, etc, etc. People are resourceful, however, and it's not uncommon to find parties set up in one of the larger Halls, and stores converting to evening cafes for people to sit and gossip.
Luxury goods are hard to come by, and things like books, DVDs, video games, televisions and so forth can be extremely expensive. Zero does have a fairly large library, but it's by no means comprehensive.
The West Wing
The West Wing contains anything and everything related to the rebellion military. The barracks for soldiers (married soldiers live with their family in the East Wing, unless otherwise noted), prison cells, war rooms, vehicle hangers (which has a direct link with the Door Bay) teleportation centers, communications centre, mess hall and basically everything needed to run a military command post is here. Mina has an office here, as well as every other member of the Inner Sanctum involved in everyday running of Zero and the Rebellion as a whole, ie Rose (even though she never uses it, it's got a nice desk and everything). Civilians are not permitted in the West Wing without special permission.
The North Wing
The smallest of any of the wings, it's basically the living quarters for the Inner Sanctum. It takes a retinal scan, fingerprints and two sets of guards giving you the go ahead before anyone can officially enter. The apartments contained within are a little larger than anything you would find in the East Wing. Mina has another office here, smaller but far more comfortable than her big official one.
The South Wing
The South Wing is more commonly known as the Med Bay, which is somewhat of a misnomer, considering it's basically a fairly decent sized hospital. It services both the military and civilian ends, and contains doctors offices, a civilian ER and one dedicated solely to military personnel.
Though the door by far is the most heavily warded, the entire base is mired in as many wards made by as many different people as the rebellion could spare. The resistance is more than well aware of their mostly precarious position, and every effort that can be put towards defense, is.
