Welcome to Bayville, New York! Located 45 minutes outside of New York City, Bayville is the up and coming cousin of the Big Apple. Rapidly expanding, this city has got it going on. The malls are new, the suburbs are safe, the clubs are fun...
And the mutants are everywhere.
The Xavier Institute for Higher Learning. Located on the outskirts of Bayville, the Institute has served as the home base for the X-Men, and more recently, a safe haven for young mutants, who can come to the institute to learn, train, and play it safe with their powers. Under the watchful eyes of their teachers, and the telepathic mind of the headmaster, these children of tomorrow are safest here. The people of Bayville tolerate the mutants on the outskirts, you don't bother them, they won't bother you.
The peace isn't going to last long.
Evil Mutants? Well, that all just depends on your definition of "evil", now doesn't it? The Brotherhood has made a home in the middle of Bayville, ironically enough living closer to their human counter-parts than the X-Men. In among the slums with the trashy citizens, the mutants carved out an existence for themselves. The base is often dirty, disgusting, and sometimes downright despicable. The people are rude, and they probably won't like you. Who cares? Everybody is here for one reason, and one reason only. Up with Homo Superior, down with Homo Sapiens. They've got a plan.
And they're on the move.
Dirty mutants. They're clogging up the gene pool. They will hurt your children. They will destroy your property. Those damn muties need to be wiped off the face of the Earth, and it needs to be done now. And since nobody else wants to step up to the plate, it looks like the job is left to P.U.E.R (Protectorate of the United Ethnological Race). They're your only hope for the future. They're your only hope for today. Who cares if the government is behind them or not? They know they're in the right. And the right thing to do is to eradicate each and every single one of those filthy mutants, and...dispose of them.
You'd better pray your X-Gene stays hidden.
Normal. Is normal even a word that can be used to describe a mutant? For the neutrals of Bayville, they're the closest to "normal" anyone's ever gonna get. Some have a house, some have kids, some have mortgages and jobs and bills to pay. Saving the world? It's on the to do list. The question is, how long can you ignore it? Because pretty soon, it's going to be all or nothing. You or them. Are you with us, or against us? You have to pick a side, or somebody is going to pick for you.
It's not going to be easy.
