This thread will describe, in detail, the contents, both military and civilian, of the new base in Darkmoor. This is the tactical command base of the Shadow Clan, and as such is both the most strategically defensible and technologically advanced of any of the bases of the Shadow Clan in the galaxy. That said, this will be a long post, but you should familiarize yourself with the new layout.
-----
The defensive perimeter of Darkmoor TacCom extends about a mile out from the base proper. Every hundred yards there is a guard tower with sentries and SC soldiers around the clock, with several shifts of guards. There is also a twelve foot steel wall that is nearly two feet thick. There are two gates in this perimeter, the North Gate and the smaller gate to the Forest of Shadows.
Along the wall there are sniper posts, which are randomly manned at any given time, day or night. There are also flood lights to illuminate the grounds both within and outside of the perimeter wall, to ensure nothing gets by without triggering an alarm.
In the event of invisible or near-invisible enemies, there are thermal sensors every fifty feet built into the steel wall.
Inside of the perimeter is one final wall, this one immediately surrounding the Darkmoor TacCom proper. This wall is black marble that is as dark as night, with constantly shifting crimson runes and sigils intrinsic to the design. This wall is only eight feet, with razor wire on top of it. Every hundred yards are guard towers, also manned by sentries around the clock.
The sentries on the black marble walls are not run of the mill soldiers, but are seasoned, hardened veterans that have given blood, sweat, and tears to the Shadow Clan for many years. The lowest rank of these soldiers is Staff-Sergeant, and as such they are disciplined and willing to give their life in the defense of the base.
*** NOTE ***
Within the walls of the black marble, no sort of teleportation can occur. There is no way into the base or out of the base once you pass the threshold of the runed black marble. Energy gates, teleportation, shadow stepping, teleporters and similar devices--- all of these are disabled within the Darkmoor TacCom.
The base proper consists of three parts. The Spaceport, a huge airport with a gravitational anchor to a space station, is home to hundreds of Shadow Clan aerospace fighters and troop transports, as well as commercial vehicles. It is heavily defended within the perimeter wall, but is not contained within the black marble so it can be teleported to and from.
The second part of the base is the military facilities. Within the perimeter walls, sprawling barracks contain thousands of Shadow Clan warriors. There are twelve, behemoth hangers contain heavy artillery, tanks, hovertanks, and assault choppers. Along with these barracks and hangers, there are eight scientific research centers, ranging from bio mechanical to prototype vehicles and weaponry. There are two state of the art medical facilities, one for the 'grunts' and one for the inner sanctum, i.e. Armok and his elites.
The third, most impenetrable portion of the Darkmoor TacCom, is the true jewel of the Shadow Clan. The Tactical Command facility is, quite literally, a fortress. A foot of leadstone was built upon eight inches of titanium. The interior, however, for aesthetic purposes, is marble.
To enter the Darkmoor TacCom facility, there are two entrances and four exits. One of each is at the North and Forest of Shadows, with two additional exists at the south of the structure. There are four helipads on top of the central building of the TacCom.
The entrances are heavily guarded by Shadow Clan BlackOps soldiers, who are armed to the teeth. There are also demonologists posted alongside them, ready for any threat.
Within the TacCom facility, there are dozens of amenities. Two officer lounges, or common rooms, are loaded with huge holoprojection screens for television, news, movies, etc. There are comfortable chairs next to fireplaces, giving an overall sense of serenity.
Each of the inner sanctum and key commissioned officers have extravagant rooms that are entirely customizable by the owner. Money is not an issue.
There is yet another state of the art medical facility, two full gyms, two fully equipped training rooms with self-repairing training devices. There are two officer mess halls, where fully trained, gourmet chefs can provide anything the inner sanctum would desire, as well as the fully stocked kitchens for the Clan to cook themselves.
The Tactical Command center is about the size of half a football field, and over a hundred flatscreen monitors that span the walls. Several hundred officers and brass are here at all times, monitoring the Shadow Clan on Earth in every country they are present. Naval, aerial, and ground forces are all monitored here, as well as the aerospace fighters and dropships. There is a twin tactical command center on the Spacestation, that is about half the size of the one in Darkmoor. The two share the Shadow Clan soldiers in space.
In addition to Armok's chambers, he has an office which serves as the recruiting post and where Armok deals with the day to day logistics of running a military force as powerful as the Shadow Clan. The walls of his office are covered with trophies and medals, as well as awards given to him by dozens of governments from galaxies far from Earth.
