Kat has longPicture:browncurrently blonde hair, halfway down her back. It's actually really inconvient for fighting, and doing just about anything else that she does on a regular basis, but hell, it's one thing on a short list of things that keep her feeling normal. So don't diss it.
Clothes are pretty basic, makeup is nonexistent. Earrings are a bit of a minor pain because generally, as soon as she takes out the earrings for 5 or so minutes, the hole has healed over, and she would have to pierce them again. So she saves earrings for really special occasions. Tattoos are along the same lines, in that they are not permanent, other than the barcode on the back of her neck, which she will either cover by leaving her hair down or wearing something like a halter that covers it.
The only other features that make her stand out are her eyes, and her teeth. Her eyes are feline in shape, and bright blue. Her teeth are easily identified as sharper than normal. Her nails are generally hard and sharp enough to do minor damage, even when they're not claws, and, even though she tends to chew on them a lot, they grow back fairly quickly.
PB: Jessica Biel. You can dig up your own damn picture.Personality:
Kat is as Kat does.Likes/Dislikes:
Incredibly and enduringly loyal to her friends, she would easily die for any one of them without a second thought. Betrayal is something she has such a hard time with in her own head, and when it happens, she probably hurts worse than everybody else could imagine. Just think, this is someone she would have died for, and they turn around and shove a dagger in her back. It sucks, and she hates it, and her trust is so hard to earn back.
Serious Kat, a really serious Kat is a sight to behold. Most of the time, she can't hold herself back from the biting comments and the sarcastic quips. In the heat of battle, you'll hear her yelling almost nonsensical things. She can't really help it, it's just how it works. And along the same lines, sometimes she loses touch with herself and the rest of the world, just a little bit, and can come across as rather...random. And partially insane. But she's mostly just blowing off steam. NO SERIOUSLY.
Kat, despite all her protests to the contrary, is a passionate person. When she loves someone, she loves them with everything. And when she hates them, the hate runs very deep. She hasn't had much of a chance for a steady relationship of any sort, because...well, when would she have had time? Kat often gets jealous when she sees other people with the kind of relationship that she wants for herself. She's sometimes afraid of not ever getting it, because of what she does, or the way she looks.
Kat is a violent person, by sort-of nature. Her first reaction in most situations is to get riled up, and then hit something. And when she's supposed to deal with something...well, she hits something then too. Probably harder. She's terrible at dealing with her own feelings, preferring to keep them bottled up inside. Despite this, she has absolutely NO poker face, so it's usually pretty easy to tell when something's bothering her or whatever.

Animal morphing – She has perfected this power enough to allow her to shift into a “half-form”, retaining a sharp pair of claws, cat ears, and a tail, and the rest of her being…mostly normal looking. This makes her stand out in a crowd, quite obviously.Weaknesses:
Superhuman senses- Kat's powers also enable her to have superhuman senses. Her sight is better than that of a normal humans, especially during the night. She can hear 1.6 octaves above a normal humans hearing range, and is able to pinpoint sounds to one meter. Her sense of smell is 14 times that of a normal humans, and can often cause problems when near a garbage dump or something.
Healing factor – Kat possesses a healing factor. She does possess the ability to regenerate an entire limb, although the strain and energy of this would put her in a basic coma for nearly a week. If her head were removed…well, that’s basically it. The healing factor gives her a small immunity against most poisons and tranqs, although it will slow her down as her healing factor compensates for the cells being killed.
-She doesn't think ahead. Unless she has like a week before a mission, Kat often just takes things as they come, hardly stopping to think of the best plan. This can be good, when speed is required...but more often than not, it can cause problems. It also means that she charges headfirst into things and can get herself totally screwed over.Other Skills:
-Her senses. They can be a problem when they get overloaded. Things such as bright flashes of light will affect her more/longer than a normal person, and smells that are normally just annoying can become overpowering to the point of sickness. Loud music is especially irritating, and when people shout, she gets a headache easily.
-Her healing factor can be stretched. The more wounds she has, the more exhausted she gets from trying to heal them in a short span of time. Regrowing a finger would take a couple days, and a major limb loss could send her into a coma for two weeks. Cutting off all her limbs at once would almost definitely kill her, as would removing her heart or lungs, or her brain. She can recover from a shot or a dagger to the head, but the moment you physically cut out any piece of it that she kind of needs to live, then she's totally screwed. Kat heals best, and fastest while she's in her human form, pretty decently while she's in between, and sort of alright while she's in panther form. This is due to the fact that while she's in panther form, or in between, her healing factor is already working overtime to keep her in one piece.
-She is terrified of losing her powers. Although the situation rarely ever comes up, the thought of living her life without claws is just...it's scary. Now this is not to say that she doesn't sometimes wish she was human. Half the time, if you offered her the choice to make none of this to have ever happened to her, she would take it. But taking away her powers at the point in life she's in now? Nuh uh. It would make Kat feel incredibly vulnerable and useless, and she hates it.
-She's careless. Beyond belief. You'd think that since she's been in the Shadow Clan for a while, she'd learn to be more careful, but nope, apparently not. Kat puts most, if not all, her faith in her healing factor, and therefore she jumps head first into some things without looking first.
-Kat's fighting style is, as it once was most aptly described, that of a blunt axe. She is not refined, she is not graceful, and her style carries no sense of poetic movement. She hacks, she slashes, she throws her weight around, whatever means to an end. And that end is winning.History:
-Guns are easy to shoot with. Knives, not so much, nor does she have any use for them. So guns equal yes, knives equal obsolete from her point of view.
-Mental defenses. This was something that she learned during her time in the ring, and also a pet peeve of hers. She hates telepaths. She can filter out most telepathic interference, and it would take an extremely skilled/high level telepath to infiltrate her mind without her noticing. Rose is the only one she lets it with any frequency, and probably the only one that can really do it without her noticing.
-Because her powers are not magic/energy based, most methods of power repression don't actually work on her. If they did, she'd probably end up dying/with cancer sooner or later, because her healing factor is really the only thing that keeps her together, her DNA is far too fucked up to work otherwise.
Kat was born to her parents, a whole bunch of years ago. Growing up, she had a pretty normal, happy, and/or average life, however you want to describe it. She had two younger siblings, a pair of twins that were 7 years younger than she was.Other Characters: Eris!
She hit high school on a high note, and was relatively popular, and a jock. During the winter she played hockey, in the summer, she rowed competitively. During her Junior year, Kat was at the top of her world.
And as such, things all came crashing down.
Driving her two siblings to school one day, and not paying attention to where she was going resulted in a car crash of epic proportions. One moment she was there, singing along with whatever song was on the radio, then there was a crash, and then there was nothing for a pretty long time. For the next little while (don't ask her how long it was, she doesn't really know), she could only feel herself drifting in and out of consciousness, sometimes there were people talking, sometimes there weren't.
And then when she finally woke up for good, it was somewhere that was most certainly not a hospital. Or at least one that she recognized. It kind of went even more downhill from there, as for purposes beyond her understanding, she belonged to them now.
Well, of course, that didn't go over very well. And despite that, Kat somehow didn't get a whole lot of choice in the matter either. It kind of went from there on, and a huge chunk of time passed where Kat really doesn't remember what happened, besides a few painful snippets that she would rather forget.
Before long, the Kat that she had known was completely destroyed, replaced with some sort of...freakish monster. She had claws, and fuck, she had a tail, and she didn't know what to do about it, besides try and hurt whatever crossed her path. Which she did, quite often, until the day came where she was told that she was of no longer use to them, and lead out of her cage, to someplace else.
That someplace else turned out to be a gladiator-like arena. Underground to the extreme, you had to be beyond rich to afford a ticket to watch, and even richer to afford a competitor. All of the competitors were like Kat in some way, or at least had powers of some kind. And you put two of them in the arena, and you go at it. Apparently it was fun to watch. So, that's what Kat did. Competed. Or killed, more like it, because it was really one or the other.
She was told near the beginning of her tenure that if she fought well enough, she would be set free. Kat didn't quite think this statement all the way through, because she had no idea what she would DO once she was set free...but hey, when you've had some shit times, freedom always sounds good.
And, yes, surprisingly enough, because she's not dead yet, she was actually set free. Although, by 'set free', they quite literally set her out in the middle of nowhere, Siberia, and told her to have fun. It took a week or two of wandering to reach a village or something, and about another month and a half before she got anywhere near the rest of Europe. She found herself in Paris, where she lived for 9-10 months, before moving on, and if she wants you to know the story, she'll tell you.
Kat was essentially a hobo from when she left Paris, until meeting Rose in a bar. And it's pretty much history from then on in.
Most recently, she gained some insider info, and headed back on her own little quest. Tearing through the lab she had been mostly created in, she returned with a girl on the back of her motorcycle. Eris isn't actually her real name, but Kat thought it was pretty sweet >.> But it's caused her a bit o'trouble, as she now has a price on her head from her former owner/creator. For now, she's got her eyes and ears open for any more information of anyone else she could set free, but...we'll cross that bridge when we come to it, now won't we?
