((( Because Kayla has been rejecting you all for WoW...she posts...outta boredom and to be distracted from Mike's snoring. )))
The eyes continued to watch. Their numbers seemed to be multiplying at a quick pace. Already triple of what used to be there, the Creatures continued to watch. If a Jack stepped to close, it was destroyed. If one of them stepped out of line, they were destroyed. It seemed to be a never ending cycle. That was probably why there was even more coming.
Even constant light at night seemed to leave an eerie, cold feeling outside and perhaps in the base. If you looked hard enough, a couple sets of eyes could be seen in the base. Rare, but they were residing there, hiding, scouting. Hikari was damn sure not to leave any of her enemies unwatched, especially Kat and AFR. Finding out about the relationship with Rose made Hikari all the more wanting to tear him to shreds in every way possible, no thanks to Candice.
But the medication she stole was helping a bit. Sure, it was weak and barely kept Kaimu out of pain for longer then two hours, but it did help her get to sleep as much as possible. It was Candice that was regulating it in the first place. Hikari slept during the day in the darkest corner of the cabin. She was preparing for something. Twelve hours of sleep must mean something. Planning and study of her enemies was in order. She was constantly in waiting.
((( There...a Kayla update! ^^ )))

Kat sat out on the lawn, which was still bright as day. There was no way in hell she was gonna keep herself cooped up inside. And since she couldn't go very far anyways, well....she would make do with what she had. Sitting crosslegged in the middle of the grass, with her eyes closed seemed kind of odd. But Kat was in a kind of odd mood anyways. Suppose being shot in the head could do that to a girl, but you know. Something had been bothering her all day, but she couldn't place a finger or a real feeling on it.

GDR glided out to her rather silently, probably in hopes of scaring her. "Uh, it's probably not a good idea to be out here while there are people trying to put bullets through your head." He thought for a second, then added. "And succeeding."

"Hm." Kat opened her eyes, squinting so she could see through the light and into the dark forest beyond, at the thousands of eyes that were staring and watching her. "Maybe it's an even worse idea for you to be out here beside me. The sniper might miss." She was fairly confident that whoever the shooter was, he might've learned his lesson in trying to shoot her, or thought she was dead. Both options made her feel fairly alright with sitting out in the open.
That, or she was trying to tempt fate. Probably a bit of both.

.... "They obviously aren't the missing type. They got you pretty good." Thinking about it still made him sick. Possibly because he could never survive it.

"Clearly not good enough." Kat at least had the decency to stand up, so she could pretend she might consider going back inside. "Besides, I wasn't paying attention then, I was watching TV." She had also assumed that the glass was all bulletproof. Apparently not.

... >.> GDR twitched a little, and his voice was a bit on edge. "I was fucking scared. No easy way to put it. And I've seen some bad shit."

"Then you might wanna get as far away from the Shadow Clan as possible." Kat could barely restrain an eye roll. "Last night was tame compared to what we're going to be dealing with." Really, a single bullet couldn't compare to a shadow army that you couldn't hit.

GDR crossed his arms, considering doing just that. "But... What if you guys don't survive?" he then put on a smug face. "Who's going to be the hero and pull you guys out, if I'm not there?" ~~~ ... Elsewhere, in John's upscale city apartment, he was talking with his employer on the phone. "I don't understand. She didn't die." "Oh, no. A shot to the head doesn't kill The Experiment. If you want her to die... You have to cut her to shreds." John was beginning to doubt this was as easy a job as he expected.

"Please. We're harder to kill than cockroaches." Kat mimicked his stance, leaning in closer so she could get in his face. "You, however, are not one of us. So I'd say that puts you in a pretty vulnerable position, now doesn't it?"

GDR smirked. "You like to bring that up a lot, don't you? Well I'm not one of them..." He pushed his face towards hers mockingly as well. "Then what does that make me?"

"Oh so very dead." Kat leaned back, her supremely cocky grin regaining it's rightful place on her face. GDR seemed to always bring out the most arrogant in Kat. "Once shit goes down, and you've got nowhere left to hide, what are you gonna do?"

... GDR crossed his arms and challenged her with his eyes. "Are you trying to recruit me, or make me join the other side? I'll survive. I've gone through enough tests. I can survive anything you, the rest of you, or anybody else throws at me." ... Give or take, he thought mentally.

"I'm trying to let you know that this isn't kiddie playground type shit." Kat honestly didn't think GDR had done enough of anything to deserve a spot in the SC. He certainly didn't seem like the type to have fought a whole lot, unless it was verbal fights. And although those came up often, they usually weren't the kind that helped a whole lot either.

"Maybe I don't. Prove me wrong then." It wasn't like she was gunning for the kid to get killed often, Kat just didn't want to have to deal with him when he spazzed out because there were demons overrunning the place. =/

GDR smirked again, eyes blazing silently. "Okay, then. Tomorrow, in the training gym. I'll even let you choose the test."

... "Yeah. Whatever you want, as long as it is possible. I'll even take you on in a fight, if you're feeling lucky." GDR started to walk back into the base, confident from the challenge.

Kat grinned, already plotting in her own head. "Oh no, I don't think you're up to my level yet. Besides, I wouldn't want to hurt you, especially since our med bay's been decimated." Casting one last look over her shoulder, Kat sighed, supposing that for the night, she couldn't do much more besides go back inside. Feh. FEH. She needed to get off the base grounds soon, or she was going to go stir crazy up in here.
